An Ancient Farmhouse in Tuscany

The Farmhouse

Loggiato del CasaleYou enter the main entrance of the house from the spacious covered loggia (the Balco), ideal for outdoor dining during the summer.
Inside, the large main hall houses an indoor dining area and a lounge with comfortable sofas in front of a large stone fireplace.
Another entrance gives direct access to a large kitchen situated on the ground floor, where, in addition to the usual kitchen equipment, a conventional stove, oven, refrigerator with freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishwasher, washing machine, iron and ironing board, there is also an old wood-burning oven for baking bread and pizza and a large stone fireplace.
A stone staircase winds its way through various levels of the house and leads to the first two double bedrooms, both with private bathrooms.
A corridor, with access to two more bathrooms, leads to another bedroom, a bedroom with two single beds and finally to the attic, where there are three more single beds. All rooms are provided with bed linen and towels. All the bathrooms have soap and hair driers available.

Cucina del Casale The windows of the house are equipped with mosquito nets.
There is central heating and our guests, in the colder months, can turn on the fireplace and use the wood from our farm for free.
The house also has equipment for younger children such as cribs and high chairs.

The Estate

Giardini del Casale In front of the house is a restored, updated cabin, another room for guests to dinner, listen to music, play with the kids or just spend a secluded and relaxing afternoon.
The lawns and gardens of our accommodation are rich in herbs and fragrant flowers, such as lavender, broom, irises and climbing roses. In the orchard adjacent to the pool, we have planted old varieties of fruit trees in order to protect a cultural heritage that would otherwise be lost.

The organic garden in Il Poggio offers seasonal produce (including lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, and zucchini) and herbs (rosemary, oregano, mint, sage, fennel, parsley, marjoram, lemon balm, mint) that our guests can pick and use for cooking.
In addition, our farm produces its own wheat, barley, fodder and excellent olive oil.
The house uses the water from the well which is good both for irrigating and for drinking.
Pets are allowed in the farmhouse with prior notice when requesting accommodation.

Our Oil

The oil of our production comes from olive trees including leccino, moraiolo, frantoiano and other varieties, cultivated according to ancient traditions and without the use of pesticides.
The olive harvest is done by hand and cold pressing within 24 hours of collection.
The oil keeps a fresh taste and aroma that makes it great as a condiment, perfect for bruschetta and ideal for any Italian dish.
